Go watch!

What? A review? With my procrastination? So once again it's 2014. I mean I really don't need to be repeating this, it's been like a month... So what other great anime are out there?

Hamatora-- An anime smelling of sweet nostalgia is not something that I find to be very common these days. Especially when said anime has the words 'the animation' attached to it. In fairness this anime is not even adpated from something. It was planned from the start; a mixed media project. In any case, the anime breaks it up a bit by having almost no fanservice, a compelling plot, a good old getbackers/ darker than black story, and the most psychedelic action sequences I've seen in an anime.

 Noragami--

A god, a cat, and a katana walk into a bar. Noragami in a nutshell. Not only does this anime have one of the weirdest concepts I've ever seen (broken only by sodas that can transform into girls) it also is just awesome. It's a lot of fun. Animation is smooth, script isn't the best, but Hiroshi Kamiya (voice of ararararararararararararagi, Izaya, and the one most of you would know Levi) definitely makes up for that. He plays the role of Yato, the flamboyant god working to become famous by making a shrine out of 5 yen donations. It also helps that Yuki Kaji is in here. Admittedly I've only seen three episodes, but this anime is looking promising.

Engaged to the unidentified-- I actually have no clue idea what to make of this anime. It's not blowing away, but it's strangely addicting. I really want to know what's going to happen next. It's got me reallyintrigued and I don't really know why. It's a funny show, not My Mental Choice, but still funny. Characters are fun to watch, though not fleshed out enough as of yet for me to truly pass judgment. Okay whatever, it's fun! You'll enjoy it! I'll save everything else for when I review it!

More anime in 2014 that you should watch!

Sooooo, in case any of you are outside the loop, the year is in fact 2014. I know, I was shocked too. And what, you ask, does this mean? Well it means an entirely new issue about the debt ceiling extension expiring in February, some prick in Syria, and finally world hunger, but who cares about that?! More anime came out!

No-Rin-- No other word is there for this anime other than awesome. Great humor, amazing animation, and a great cast is what you have to look forward to. This anime is a lot of fun. Is it deep? Maybe. I'm only about two episodes in, so I couldn't tell you. It's basic premise is interesting. A guy has a crush on an idol. He's been Sending her vegetables, and so she feels obliged to quit being an idol to go live with him. Pure unadulterated fun.

Nobunaga the Fool-- Am I dumb or something?! Really please tell me I am, because this anime has left me with one of two feelings. The first is my inner mech fanboy being like, Holy shit guys! A mech anime! Wow! God the explosions! Life is worth living! And the other is my logical side saying something along the lines of;

This anime is about A guy named Nobunaga---Wait hold on, what is it with crazy anime and Nobunaga.  I mean first we have Nobunagun, title says it all, then we have a show about a history junkie going back in time to meet a gender bended Oda Nabunaga, freaking hell, he's even a playable character in Pokemon. Anyhow it's got some cool symbolism about stuff years ago. Two worlds east and west (Ya see the symbolism) exist. East isn't nearly as technologically advanced as West (more symbolism) but still has the balls to call the west 'barbarians'. Yes, truly those guys who are traveling through space are barbarians. It's not you guys reveling in all your monarchy filled glory. I mean the anime is fun and all. It's got great animation, and a main character so charismatic, I thought Kamina had come back to life for a second. However I still have this feeling like Japan is trying to make up for the a**-kicking they got back in the day. Does it make it better that I'm Japanese?

Tonari no Seki-kun, or the Master Of Killing Time-- Personally I think the title is bull, because I played God of War, and I'm pretty sure the killer of time isn't this guy, but anyhow. Ever have that one guy in your class who is always screwing around. Then your try to tell him to stop, and you get yelled at? That's this anime in a nutshell, except instead of just screwing around, this guy is making gigantic Domino structures, getting revenge through static electricity and a entire epic tale of revenge and betrayal told through a board game... Did pot get legalized in Japan or something, because god damn there are so many crazy anime coming out this season. Animation is nothing special, but it does have some pretty good voice talent. The voice actor for Connie (attack on titan) and Keima (The World Only Knows) plays the infamous classmate, Seki. I'm kinda surprised at this, because for such a big name voice actor, he really doesn't talk that much during this anime. The other huge talent is Kana Hanaza. Now I don't want to sound like some creep here, but she has such a good voice. She's like Steven Blume, the dude who does Spike Spagiel (or for you gamers, Grunt from Mass Effect), in that way. Whenever she's onscreen, it just sounds good. Okay I'm actually sounding creepy, so maybe I'll just jump ship while I still have one person reading this.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai Ren-- What?! Kyoto Animation is actually going to finish a series. Get to the arc everyone! 2012 was delayed a bit, but its coming! For those of you who don't know Chuunibyou is a show about your embarrassing child hood moments that you still secretly fantasize about today. Remember when I reviewed Oreshura? What you don't? That's cool, here's a convenient link, hint, freaking hint. This anime is like that, except if it took itself seriously. The first season, in my own petty opinion was slow to start, relying on the same humor as Oreshura, except not doing it as well. The difference was toward the end of the series, where it picked me up, stuck some grass in its mouth, and proceeded to pluck my heart stings like a freaking banjo. So, this is the second season, and while they're are lots of cute moe girls, there isn't a harem! Anyhow, the humor here is much better, and there's a lot more cute romance. Looking for a fun, romantic anime that may or may not rip away at the way you view your childhood, then check this out.

D-frag--This anime... words cannot describe. This anime...is hilarious. No, I actually don't have anywords, go watch this anime. Not only does it have Hanaza as a freaking Yandere, who might as well be Yuno. No really she's cute and pleasant one second, and the next...gah. It also has the voice actress for Senjygohara, who basically plays the exact same role, down to the purple hair. The guy who plays the main character is pretty damn good too, though I've never heard of him before. I can't describe it.

Some anime you should watch, becuase it's the new year!

So in case any of you are time travelers from the year 1957, and even more so if you Robin Williams from Jumanji, the year is now 2014. Yes, yes, it's all about the new year, and all the semantics that follow, resolutions and stuff, but screw that! You're probably going to forget all that stuff anyway, so let's talk about something you'll remember--Space Dandy. Okay, okay, a lot of other anime came out in the joyous influx of 2014 anime that pushed My Mental choice and Henneko to the bottom of the popularity list (which I will never forgive them for).

Space Dandy-- What exactly is the anime in 2014 that deserves the hype it's received? It's Sword Art Online 2, of course! It had an intriguing story, with amazing pacing, and compelling romanc---oh I'm sorry it seems my nose has reached the other side of them room. Yes, the anime is Space Dandy. You can tell you're anime is going to be good when it starts with the words boobies, boobies, boobies, before proceeding to a lecture on how boobs are overrated and how the butt is what really counts. Oh, and then he goes to a restaurant called boobies...insert unimpressed face here. If I've learned anything from Sword Art Online, it's that you can't judge a series on the first few episodes...and here I am judging this anime. Just because this anime is made by the same person who did cowboy bebop, and another person who did Full Metal Alchemist, does not mean that you should be taken to seriously. No, really, the frequency of fourth wall breaks in this anime is roughly the same as the amount of pixels on this screen you're viewing this post on. It's fun, high budget stupidity, that never hides what it is. Seriously, its like the creators saw Kill La Kill being called crazy and said, 'fuck that, we got space cats, breastraunts, and so much other crazy shit in here, that we might have well been smoking pot while watching Pon Pon Pon in pop tart suits with cat masks, while farting rainbows and shouting 'I am the Walrus'' To illustrate this point, a warship consists of the statue of liberty's head with a gag-ball stuffed in it. I rest my case.

Nisekoi-- Developed y studio Shaft, who did the Madoka series and the monogatari series, I think we all know what we're in for. Yes, it is time for the near constant eyegasms, the weird as shit camera angles and enough text to warrant an entire novel. Or at least that's what it should be. Yes, the eyegasms are still present, but they managed to hire a cameraman who doesn't have the attention span of a butterfly. It's a fun romantic comedy, that actually uses a tsundere right. You know nowadays, tsunderes fall in love with the character as soon as they lay eyes on him(Or her if were talking about Kyon). Tsunderes are supposed to hate the main character for the duration of the show, or at least a good part of it. More than this the main character hates the tsundere just as much as she hates him. It makes me love tsunderes again. Oh and it has slap-stick. Glorious, glorious slapstick. Anyhow to show you the awesome animation, and Yakuza gags, here's a video! Go watch this now, it's on crunchyroll! You can skip to 1:12 for the scene, or you could just watch the episode, up to you.

Recently my sister is unusual-- Also known as Adventures of a girl and her bladder issues, or it might have well have been, because that's all I remember from the first two episodes. After finishing Oreimo, I bet a lot of people are looking for another creepy incest slice of life that is equally creepy in that it's good. Look no further! Except these siblings aren't really siblings, but step-siblings. Okay I'm kind of twisted here. On the one hand, this anime has Yui Ogura in it. In case you don't know she voices Tsutsukakushi in Hentai prince and Stony Cat, which if you don't know already, given the amount of times I've mentioned it is as many as some really clever analogy involving really big numbers, is one of my favorite anime period. On the other hand I had to repeatedly flip back to the tags to make sure that this wasn't porn. This anime takes fanservice to the next level. I mean at least its honest about. It doesn't pretend you came here for anything but fanservice, and cute girls repeating the word onee chan over and over again like a broken record. Except here they sort of dangle the word in front of you, like a carrot attached to a rod. They don't want to overuse it, for fear you'll lose interest. It's okay. Nothing special. As I said earlier, first impressions can be deceiving, so maybe this will pull a rabbit out of a hat.'

World Conquest Zvezda Plot-- If there was an award for most confusing episode, it would be given to this show. It would simultaneously be given the award for most intriguing episode. This anime is about a ten-year-old who wants to conquer the world. Props for the concept. I would love to give my reaction to this episode, but it would consist of me, choking out the words What, the, and f*** between long fits of laughter. Go watch this anime. That's it.

Well, that's it for stuff I can reccomend this season. No, it's not because all the other anime are crap, it's because I haven't seen any others yet. Okay well I did see Magical Warfare, but that got me the same reaction as above, except without the fits of laughter.

As usual likes follows, and comments are always fun, and I'll siya next time
